7 Benefits of Camping and Why You Should Do it

There are many benefits of camping and I want to show you why I love it so much.

We all know there are many benefits of getting outside but camping just hits differently.

However, I think camping is good for you regardless of what you think, and that’s why I want to point them out.

Most of the benefits are obvious, but the more subtle ones are the most beneficial.

So what makes camping so good and why should you do it?

Here are 7 awesome reasons why camping is good for you and why you should do it often.

1. Camping is Fun

why-i-love-camping

If there’s one obvious benefit of camping, it’s going to be the fact that it’s fun.

Even if you’ve never tried it, I’m sure you can see the beautiful environment, the camping tents, and the Kumbayas beside the fireplace.

Everything about camping just seems wonderful and that’s because it is.

You can hike to different areas of your camping ground, Go fishing if you’re camping by a lake or beach, and build campfires.

There are so many outdoor activities that can be done while you’re camping, so don’t hold back and do as much as you can.

2. Camping Gives You a Break From Life

The reality of today is being glued to your digital devices.

Rather than listening to your friend talk about what’s going on in their life, you’re half in the conversation and half on whatever it is that you’re doing on your cellphone.

Stop doing that, even if you’re not camping.

The beauty of camping is that you will be busy doing actual things that you can give your cell phone a break.

Not to say that your cell phones are bad (because their very much important), but just pull back from your everyday routine.

That’s one of the best benefits of camping, so keep that in mind when you plan your next outing.

3. Improves Survival Skills

I love the minimalistic approach to life and finding the best ways to survive different situations.

With camping, it gives you the necessary practice that is needed, as we know things are very different when things get real.

Whether it be a tornado, a typhoon, or even just life, survival is something that requires more than just preparation.

You need to understand how things will be when they actually happen.

You can plan all you want but nothing will prepare you more than having experience and that’s what camping can help you accomplish.

I survived Super Typhoon Mawar recently, and even at that, I experienced things I never did with other typhoons.

4. Reality Check

We live in a digital world and we tend to get lost.

Knowing that we are lost in our own worlds is merely not enough and sometimes we need to put a wrench in the tire.

You can take a social media detox and TRY to hide away from your phone, but there’s only so much that that can do.

Sometimes you need to do something that will completely take you away from the world and that’s what camping will do.

The best part about it and why it’s one of the awesome benefits of camping is that you don’t even have to try to ignore your phone.

Just get out there and enjoy everything that comes with camping.

5. Enjoy Nature

Getting outside is one thing.

Getting outside and exploring the beauty that mother nature provides is different.

If you take the time to sit there and see how beautiful things are and how they work, it will help you appreciate things a lot more.

Whether you think you like it or not, give it a try.

Don’t forget that there are many things you can do while camping, so don’t just sit there all day.

6. Quality Time With Friends and Family

These days, we are all too busy to do anything.

Work, sleep, repeat seems to be the routine and it seems that everyone understands and life goes on.

Sure, that’s how it seems, but it doesn’t have to be.

We live in a world with many unnecessary things and it has a complete grasp on us.

It’s the same reason why kids don’t play outside like they used to and it’s the same reason why we’re “too busy.”

We can continue thinking and living this way, or we can put a stop to the madness and go camping.

This is one of the benefits of camping and I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.

7. Nice Dose of Vitamin D

I’m not the biggest fan of talking about the benefits the sun has in our lives as it’s pretty obvious that it was put there for a reason.

It gives life to literally every single living thing on the planet and controls how we live our lives.

We love the way it looks when it rises and we are even more blown away when it sets.

You can talk about cancer and how harmful the sun is, but I think it’s safe to say that it provides more benefits than harm.

As long as you balance things, I’m sure you can take advantage of what that big orange ball provides.

And, if you’re going camping, you can bet that you will get more than your fair share of sunlight during your outing.

Most of us are cooped up in cubicles and indoors, and we can all see that there are more benefits of camping than we think.

Conclusion – Utilize the Benefits of Camping

I get it.

We are all busy and camping is the last thing we think of.

That’s cool, but sometimes we have to take the plunge and just do it.

Being busy is part of life and camping is one of the few ways that allow us to completely “get away.”

Check your calendar, figure out a plan, and find the time needed to go on a nice little camping trip.

It sounds like a lot, but once you get out there, you’ll be thankful you did.

I hope you find that there are a million benefits of camping, even if I only mentioned some of them.

At the very least, you can see that camping can give you the much-needed break you’ve been looking for.

Thanks for reading and happy camping!
